Meet our boys
Smooth red male(7lbs)
This is Jake, he is our main man. He is short and stocky and very good tempered and quite the lady’s man. His puppies tend to be very small and very smart and easy to train. When he was younger he weighed in at 7 lbs but when he lives with his harem he tends to gain weight. When I have to segregate him for awhile when his mom or daughters are in season he goes back to his younger weight. Naturally when he returns so does the weight, hence the term “fat and happy”, which definitely applies.
Smooth Black and Tan
This is AP RANCH JOSHUA our new male. He is out of Libby (7 pounds) and by AKC CH. Barstar’s Sun Dancer (71/2 pounds) who are both owned by Downhome Doxie’s in Mississippi. Josh has 9 AKC Champions on his pedigree. He will be shown in AKC shows after he turns six months and once he reaches his AKC Championship he will retire from the show pen and become Jake’s helper. We have high hopes for him as a sire. Josh’s father passed away unexpectedly two weeks after we got him, our condolences to Robyn.
AP RANCH CASSIUS, Cash was born in a litter of five born on Holloween 2010, from Jackie and Josh. He was the tinniest of the litter and because I was so worried that he wouldn’t make it because the bigger puppies were pushing him off of the milk supply, I made formula and bottle fed him for two weeks every four hours, once he was strong enough to not be pushed off I stopped but because he fought so hard to live, I named him Cassius, after the fighter. Since I was so attached to him, and because he is a Jake nephew and stayed small with those big ears and big paws, I decided to keep him. He is a lover, and gets along with all the other boys and girls and aussies. I have had offers on him, people who have fallen in love with him but I just can’t part with him, he will be Jakes replacement. He won’t be breeding until later in the year as AKC does not allow males or females to be bred until after one year of age, which I feel is a very good rule. Puppies shouldn’t be having puppies for the sake of money.
